We’ve all dreamed about living in the big house on the hill…you know the one…the one that towers magnificently over everything and everyone else in the community…the one with the awe-inspiring views overlooking nearby treetops and lakes in the distance…the one that is the envy of all the neighbors…the one where everyone wants an invitation to visit. Can you picture it? Yes! That’s the one! From the time we’re just children driving through neighborhoods with our parents and yelling from the back seat, “that’s my house!” until the time we finally realize our dream at the closing table, most people long for a place to call their own.
And, it’s no surprise why: homeownership provides security on so many different levels, from the stability of simply having a roof over your head to that of being a sound financial investment. Homeownership provides benefits like equity and higher credit rating scores (when you make your mortgage payments on time!). It’s cheaper than renting, in many markets. And, most of all, there is pride in homeownership! For most of us, it’s a big piece of our American dream.
The purpose of this blog is to create a place where everyone can find helpful hints, smart tips, and hackable tricks that are critical for successful homeownership, from the first-time homebuyer to the moving-up, moving-across and even downsizing homeowner. Whether you’re buying, selling or investing, we will deliver something of value to you.
